Takuya is cheerful and energetic. He therefore tends to joke about many things, but looks to the bright side of things. Though he is selfish and arrogant at times he usually means well. Takuya is the goggle head of the group, and typically gives morale to the group when it is needed.

Back home he has a younger brother called Shinya which he often fought with, like most siblings do. His mother's name is Yuriko and his father's name is Hiroaki.

Appearance

Contrary to what many people have believed, the symbol on his shirt has no relevant meaning to the concept of the show, it is merely the logo of a brand.

Accessories: A pair of goggles, and an olive green hat are worn.

Head: Dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Body: Yellow shirt, a red jacket and a pair of olive green shorts.

Hands: A pair of olive green gloves are worn.

Legs: White socks.

Shoes: Red and orange coloured shoes with standard laces.

History

When Takuya digivolved into Agnimon for the first time, his abilities surprised the other Digidestined. Cerberumon tried to trap Agnimon in a realm of darkness with one of his attacks. Agnimon received damage from Cerberemon's attacks, using the darkness as cover. Agnimon quickly caught onto his tricks however and was able to finish him off quickly with relative ease.

At first, Takuya was annoying, immature and careless. He simply thought the Digital World was a game. During their battle against Duskmon, all of the group's attacks had no effect on him. They were forced to retreat. Takuya devised a new plan to beat Duskmon, but Kouji didn't like it. He asked how he could even think of risking everyone's lives against Duskmon. Eventually however, Duskmon finds the Digidestined and they're forced to put Takuya's plan into action. The plan fails with Kouji being severely injured from Duskmon's attack.

A DarkTrailmon offered him a ride back to the human world. Takuya accepted, but upon arrival he mutated into a rookie level Digimon, Flamon. Everything was the same since he left, but he saw another form of himself just like before. Although his hometown was the same as when he left, it just wasn't the same. Takuya realised that he must return back to the Digital World to save his friends and help prevent the Digital World from being destroyed. Ever since then he has matured, and became aware that the Digital World is not a game.

Takuya really likes to think of Tomoki as his little brother and because of that, he tries to protect him whenever he can. As they have helped each other out in times of peril, they get along very well.

Takuya's Dream

During their battle against Cherubimon, Takuya starts to have a dream of his date with Izumi. Quite funny and cute really.

Kouji on Takuya's Back

After defeating Cherubimon, Takuya carries a tired Kouji back to where the others were cheering for them. How sweet!

In Ofanimon's Castle

When Takuya and Izumi were looking in the library of Ofanimon's Castle for the key, Takuya says that he likes Izumi. He unintentionally says it in a way that symbolises the typical crush meaning. This causes Izumi to blush a bit.
