Ranamon is the human spirit derived from the legendary warrior of water, AncientMermaimon. Fan clubs around the Digital World support her due to her beauty. Her personal conflicts with Fairymon are a result of these fan clubs finding them both equally beautiful. In addition to her special attacks she is able to manipulate water to defend herself against attacks, or use it offensively in many ways. Such ways include creating a drill of water, or making several whirlpools to trap her enemy.

Appearance

Ranamon best resembles a humanoid amphibious creature.

Head: She has fin like ears, and red eyes. She has several red jewels embedded on her head with a squid like hat embedded on her head. The hat is blue and has navy blue ridges and patterns.

Body: Her skin is of a slimy green colour. She wears a blue swimsuit with navy blue ridges on it. She also has another pair of fins like the ones found on her head behind her bottom.

Hands: She wears a pair of blue fingerless gloves with navy blue patterns on them. The end of the glove extends past her arms in a curly fashion.

Legs: The swimsuit extends down her thighs. She has a blue cuffing with navy blue ridges around her leg, just above her ankle. Half her feet are tanned a darker green from her toes.

History

Ranamon made her first appearance in Episode #13 - Better an Egg than an Eggshell. She along along with Grottomon, Arbormon and Mercuremon ambushed Seraphimon's castle. Later on Ranamon herself appeared at a seaside resort along its beach. Izumi at the time was the only one able to digivolve as the Toucanmon had stolen all the other Digidestined's D-Tectors. Fairymon was able to defend herself against Ranamon's water attacks, until she found her beast spirit.

Later on she ambushed the Digidestined again as they attempted to cross the ocean towards an island. Again Fairymon attempted to stop her, but Ranamon was able to render her kicking and wind attacks useless by raising waterfalls in front of her. This surprised Fairymon. Ranamon then countered back and used her Rain Stream attack. This drained Fairymon's energy and she then lost her balance, could not fly anymore and fell into a whirlpool.

Ranamon then ambushed Izumi inside Sefirotmon within her sphere and attempted to use a poisonous apple to bring back bad memories of her friends in the past. Izumi was able to overcame it. Ranamon was almost able to defeat Fairymon but she was then defeated later on as the battle progressed.

Ranamon summons a dark cloud which pours a large amount of water onto her enemy, similar to a waterfall.

Rain Stream ( レインストリーム )
(Dub name: Draining Rain)

Ranamon points her finger at her enemy and summons a rain cloud. The rain that falls drains the strength from her enemy, allowing Ranamon to attack with ease.
