Digimon Battle Spirit 2 is a Versus Fighting game based on the Digimon Frontier franchise. You choose one of the human spirit hybrids and must then defeat all the other human hybrids before moving onto Cherubimon.

Gaming Style

The goal is to get as many blue balls as as possible before the time runs out in each round. Your opponent has the same objective, but requires red balls instead. Everytime you strike an opponent with an attack, blue balls will appear, and vice versa but with red balls.

An energy gauge also exists for both sides which fills up whenever a successful hit is achieved. When the gauge is full, it allows the player to slide evolve to their beast spirit form for their special attacks.

In addition, diamonds now appear whenever a special attack from a beast hybrid is achieved. Filling the diamond gauge up allows you to summon an Ancient Legendary Digimon Warrior based on the spirit hybrid you play, resulting in many blue balls appearing!

The only main limiting factor in this game is that because you're playing from the Digidestined's perspective against Cherubimon, you only get to play their hybrids. It would've been fun and interesting playing the other evil hybrids.
